Precinct Custodians
Residents who actively safeguard the sunlight, safety, character, and liveability of their neighbourhood. Precinct Custodians are not protesters. Not activists. Not campaigners; we are inspired to protect cherished lifestyles — the shared spaces, community fabric, and expectations residents were told they could rely on. It’s a role anyone can claim, regardless of age, background, or technical ability. (The information collected won't be published or shared, other than in a general sense, like "there are now 127 Custodians in St Leonards).

Subject: I am a ProtectMyPrecinct Custodian — Request for Your Representation
Dear [MP Name],
I am writing to inform you that I am a ProtectMyPrecinct Custodian for my neighbourhood. This means I am formally committed to safeguarding the liveability, sunlight, safety, infrastructure capacity, and planning integrity of our local precinct.
As a Custodian, I monitor planning proposals, State Significant Development pathways, and modifications that may affect our community. I am part of a growing network of residents who take civic responsibility seriously and expect transparent, accountable planning processes. I am asking for your support in ensuring that:
- residents receive clear, early notice of any proposed changes,
- consultation is genuine, not procedural,
- modelling for overshadowing, wind, traffic and infrastructure is transparent and verifiable, and
- planning rules that guided our investment decisions are not rewritten without community consent.
ProtectMyPrecinct is not anti-development. We are pro-liveability and pro-community agency.
I would appreciate your confirmation that you acknowledge my role as a Precinct Custodian and will represent our community’s concerns when planning matters arise.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.
Kind regards,
Protect My Precinct Custodian - https://www.protectmyprecinct.org/
